Software Process Specialists are involving in providing Software measurement, evaluation and assessment service to support Software process performance and quality.
The position is aimed at supporting data collection and analysis across projects, domains, business divisions and in Development site.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Comply with process in and other relevant Development process and Global standard.
- Understand the principal tasks of measurement such as collecting,validating, retaining data and analyzing the result.
- Competent use of tools such as SQL statement, Report generator, MS Word, Excel/VBA/Macro, Access, and Power Point, including internal system e.g. Defect Tracking System Support, Consultation and Training
- Responsible for scheduled work items such as data collection, validation and support of Software Process performance and Quality metrics.
- Responsible for unscheduled work items such as measure process performance on specific period for an individual project
- Provide appropriate consultancy and advice in the areas of process evaluations, performance monitoring and trend of specific metrics.
- Report, analyse and present results of measurement and/or findings.
- Ensure all documentation/handbook on measurements, workflow and other practices is consistent and up to date. Process Improvement and Collaboration.
- Take responsibility for assigned work requests generated through commissions and requests for assistance e.g. keep up to date Peer Review deployment on bi-weekly basis to support Software Process Improvement programme/project.
- Identify and escalate areas for improvement and best practice from the results of measurement or evaluations.
- Identify and help to develop new measurements where a need or requirement exists.
Qualification:
- Minimum of 2 years experiences in measurement activities which are collecting, validating, retaining data and analyzing the result.
- Minimum of 3 years experiences in data analysis and basic statistics techniques.
- Understanding of and experience in Software process measurements.
- Experiences in commercial/corporate and/or multi-cultural/international environment with some knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle or quality techniques/processes.
- Experiences in data querying tools such as SQL statement, Report generator, MS Word, Excel/VBA/Macro, Access, and Power Point, including Reuters Internal systems.
- Facilitation, problem solving, consultative, and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, self motivated and self starter.
- Enthusiastic and proactive approach.
- Experience in working independently and showing initiative.
- Ability to work to set deadlines yet remains flexible if requirements change.
- Understand the importance of customer focus and meeting customer needs.
- Good English language verbal and written communication skills, including providing the summary report, presentation.
