Responsibilities:
The Chief Engineer has the overall responsibility for the management of the Marine Engineering and Maintenance department on the barge. Supervising the safe operation and maintenance of the barges mechanical and electrical systems. Ensuring that the planned maintenance system is followed and updated as per company policy and regulatory requirements. Ensuring that the recommended and required spare part stocks are maintained as per Company and Class requirements. Interfacing with the barges Master and Client’s Representative to assure that company goals and objectives are met.
Requirements:
- MUST have pipelay or DP barge experience.
- MUST be a Licensed Chief Engineer of barges of unlimited tonnage/horsepower, in accordance with STCW 95 (applicants that do NOT hold an unlimited C/E license will NOT be contacted).
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Senior Engineer on DP operated Production or Diving Barges.
- Experience operating and maintaining Diesel-Electric power plants and DP Class II Power Management Systems.
- Solid knowledge of SMS and ISPS codes.
- Knowledge of offshore production processes and applicable Class / USCG rules is preferable, but not required.
- Ability to work offshore for extended periods of time.
